Parents and Players
We know families have choices, and we also know joining a new team is a significant decision. Rebels Volleyball is designed to offer something more intentional than a typical club experience. Our athletes will train with highly skilled coaches, practice in a quality facility, and compete in a team environment built around fit, development, and meaningful instruction. Players are not being selected simply because they made it through a tryout process. They are being invited because we believe they can contribute in a specific way and grow in a focused, competitive setting. For more details, please see our Club Overview.
Families should review any club agreement carefully and make the decision that is best for their athlete. In many cases, early contracts are designed to protect the club by securing a commitment before families have complete information about coaching assignments, team placement, position fit, or the overall season structure. If you are in that position, it is important to step back, evaluate the full picture, and decide which environment is truly the best fit for your daughter’s development and overall experience. Most clubs will issue one of three types of offers: a Team (National-level) contract, a Level contract, or a Club contract. If you receive a Level or Club contract, your child will most likely still need to try out, so there is usually little reason to sign before you have all of the details. We encourage families to take the time they need, ask the right questions, and give Rebels Volleyball the opportunity to earn their trust by providing a strong overall experience and clear value.
Practices are currently planned at Solon Community Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:45 p.m. We also expect to add a weekend practice on either Saturday or Sunday, with that time still to be determined. Any schedule updates will be communicated clearly as soon as they are finalized. Practices will start first week of December.
Team dues are set at $2,250 per player based on our current season model. That projection is built around a roster of 9 players and a schedule that includes a mix of local one-day events and a limited number of overnight tournaments. We will communicate clearly what is included in dues and what expenses, such as personal travel, lodging, or optional gear, may remain the responsibility of each family.
We are building this team intentionally by position. Players are being invited because we believe they fill a specific role and need on the roster. That position-first approach is one of the core principles behind how this team is being formed.
Our goal is to keep the majority of the schedule manageable for families by centering it around local and Ohio-based events. The current model includes mostly one-day tournaments, along with a limited number of overnight events to provide higher-level competition and a stronger team experience. Families will receive as much advance notice as possible for any travel-related plans.
We plan to use one primary communication platform so families receive updates consistently and in one place. That will include practice reminders, schedule changes, tournament details, payment deadlines, and other important announcements. We want communication to be clear, organized, and predictable throughout the season.
This is intended to be a committed team environment. Families should expect regular attendance at practices, tournaments, and team events, along with timely communication when conflicts arise. Because the roster is being built intentionally by position, each player’s reliability matters to the team as a whole.
Yes. We will hold a parent meeting or kickoff communication before the season begins so families understand the schedule, financial expectations, communication process, team standards, and overall plan for the year. Our goal is to start the season with as much clarity and alignment as possible.
